SHOWERS OF LOVE

I’m sitting by my window, watching it rain. And I notice how the rain is not a respecter of persons or things. It falls upon my home and my neighbors homes. It falls upon the winged, the 4-legged and those that creep along the ground. It falls upon the plant and rock people. It falls upon the 2-leggeds … whether they be just people or not. It falls upon people whether their skin is red, yellow, black or white.  It matters not to the rain. Creator’s love is like the rain and showers upon us all, regardless of where we are at or what our present circumstances are. We can learn a lot from the rain. It is cleansing and nurturing, and beautifies the earth with its life-sustaining kisses. May our love be like the rain - a continuous shower that nurtures and beautifies all.

SHIELD OF PATIENCE

If we do not make use of the shield of patience,
we will not be long without a wound.

ALL THINGS POSSIBLE

As I sat in the evening sun, I watched as a baby spider began spinning its web. I watched as the little spider continued to spin its web as it made its way over to where a much larger bug was entangled. Without hesitation, it took on this giant bug caught in its web that was easily 3-4 times its size. I watched as it casually left that giant task when finished and began spinning its web again. A tiny gnat got caught in its web, much, much smaller than the little spider - a manageable task. I watched in amusement at how this tiny spider continued to nonchalantly spin its web on the way to the gnat. It approached the gnat with the same casualness and confidence as it did the bigger bug. To the little spider, both were the same. What an inspiration this tiny spider has been. It reminds me that with the strength Creator freely gives us, nothing is impossible. In Creator’s strength we can take on the giant problems caught in our web of life with the same confidence as the smaller, more manageable ones … all the while continuing on with the menial tasks of life. With Creator’s help, all things are possible.

Gentle Observations

Love seeing all the deer this year! The deer are great teachers. They teach us to be gentle in our observations, to practice sensitivity. They are sacred carriers of peace whose presence reminds us of the importance to practice this medicine ... walking softly, alert, strong, yet gently making our way on the path of peace.
