I rise early and I wait -
long before the darkness parts
and illumination of the sun rises
like fire across the sky.
I race the sun up
and greet her with song.
I welcome the new day
and offer thanks to the four directions.
I welcome the day
with a smile in my heart,
as the earth awakens with the
peaceful rhythm of morning sounds.
A world awakens to a new day ...
to something that has never existed before.
It is this new beginning that never ceases
to fill my heart with awe and wonder.
My hopes and dreams rise with the sun
and dance on the gift of a brand new day. :)
