As I sat in the evening sun, I watched as a baby spider began spinning its web. I watched as the little spider continued to spin its web as it made its way over to where a much larger bug was entangled. Without hesitation, it took on this giant bug caught in its web that was easily 3-4 times its size. I watched as it casually left that giant task when finished and began spinning its web again. A tiny gnat got caught in its web, much, much smaller than the little spider - a manageable task. I watched in amusement at how this tiny spider continued to nonchalantly spin its web on the way to the gnat. It approached the gnat with the same casualness and confidence as it did the bigger bug. To the little spider, both were the same. What an inspiration this tiny spider has been. It reminds me that with the strength Creator freely gives us, nothing is impossible. In Creator’s strength we can take on the giant problems caught in our web of life with the same confidence as the smaller, more manageable ones … all the while continuing on with the menial tasks of life. With Creator’s help, all things are possible.
